Requirements

  1. Minimum number of credit points - 68
  2. Maximum number of credit points at 100 level - 30
  3. Minimum number of credit points at 200 level or above designated in the Schedule of Undergraduate Units as science units - 34
  4. Minimum number of credit points at 300 level or above designated in the Schedule of Undergraduate Units as science units - 18, which must include the following approved coherent study:
    • MAR303
    • BIOL373
    • 9 credit points from 300-level BIOL units
    • 3 credit points from 300 level science units

Note: Students are advised to check that they will have the 100- and 200-level units required as prerequisites. They are also strongly encouraged to seek academic advice at least annually.

  • STAT170 Introductory Statistics (3cp) or STAT171 Statistical Data Analysis (3cp) C
  • GEOS116 Marine Geoscience (2cp, C)
  • ISYS123 Introduction to Information Systems & Technologies (3cp) (formerly COMP123)
  • MATH13* 100-level Maths unit (3cp) or
  • PHYS1** 100-level Physics unit (3cp)

200 Level

  • MAR201 Introduction to Marine Science (3cp, C)
  • BIOL227 Ecology (3cp, C)
  • Plus 9 cp or more from BIOL2** units (especially BIOL235 Biostatistics, BIOL245 Tropical Marine Ecosystems)
  • Plus 3cp chosen from 200-level science units such as CHEM2** (3cp) or GEOS2** (3cp)
