Admission requirements and how to apply within Australia
Prerequisites for the Postgraduate Diploma, Masters of Museum Studies
- a
degree in earth sciences,
palaeontology, biology,
geology, history, cultural
geography, indigenous studies,
creative arts, archaeology,
education, art history,
fine arts, anthropology,
cultural studies, computing
or some discipline relevant
to museum studies,
OR - qualifications
deemed to be equivalent,
OR - relevant work experience equivalent. Students with relevant work experience equivalent (approximately 5 years - to be assessed in the application process) may enrol in the Postgraduate Diploma and after the successful completion of 12 credit points may transfer to the Masters program.

- You must
apply through UAC (Universities
Admission Centre) for both
the Graduate Diploma and
Masters of Museum Studies.

- At the same
time as submitting you application
to UAC, you must also provide

Prerequisites
for the Research MA or MSc
based on Museum Studies, Doctor
of Philosophy
For a PhD you will need an Honours
or Masters degree.
For an MA or MSc you will need a very
good undergraduate record.

Enquiries relating to scholarships and enrolment may be made to the Student Enquiry Service (SES). The application form for candidature can be downloaded from the Web and at SES usually in August for the following year. Applicants for research degrees are expected to contact the appropriate department concerning their areas of interest and the availability of supervisors in advance of completing their application.
